Volunteers set to help Waterloo pothole problem

Posted: Updated:

Volunteers in Waterloo will be helping the city fill those dreaded potholes this weekend.

To help city crews, Scott Jordan with Jordan Electric and other volunteers will fill potholes this Saturday.

Right now, they have about 60 streets they will work on.

Aspro Incorporated is donating the asphalt.

Jordan says this is just a temporary fix so city crews can work on clearing the streets of snow.

"Get our roads smooth, make it safe and then all the city workers when they're able in the middle of April to put the hot mix in. That's more of a permanent fix," said Jordan.

Jordan says they will also be filling potholes a week from Saturday.

If you would like to volunteer or know of some potholes that need to be filled, contact his office at 319-232-6870.
