General Motors is expanding a recall on cars that have a defect blamed for several deaths.

The automaker originally announced that the recall affected about 800,000 vehicles. Now, GM said it includes 1.37 million cars built between 2003 and 2007.

The list includes the Chevrolet Cobalt & HHR, Pontiac G5 & Solstice, and the Saturn Ion & Sky.

The recall is intended to correct an ignition switch problem that can cause the key to move into the 'accessory' or 'off' position.
