After criticism, Iowa's Sally Mason holds listening session

Posted: Updated:
IOWA CITY (KWWL) - The University of Iowa has announced that President Sally Mason will lead a listening session on the topic of sexual misconduct.

Students and other members of the campus community are invited to attend.

The session will be held Thursday from 3:30 - 5 p.m. at the Iowa Memorial Union second-floor ballroom.

Representatives of the UI Office for the Sexual Misconduct Response Coordinator, Office of the Dean of Students, and the Department of Public Safety will also be at the listening session.

Several officials will give presentations before taking questions from the audience.

This listening session comes after students protested comments Sally Mason made in the university's newspaper, The Daily Iowan. Mason's comments were in response to several "timely warnings" regarding sexual assault on campus.
