CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -
Cedar Rapids Mayor Ron Corbett will discuss how the city plans to treat pavement stress in a news conference Tuesday morning.
After this winter's combination of rain and deep freezes, potholes and other street issues have become a top priority. Mayor Corbett will share how the city is maintaining vigilance in addressing the pothole issues, and will inform citizens of what the Public Works Dept. is doing for immediate needs. City Manager Jeff Pomeranz will share the long-term goals of the city, as it implements the first year of a multi-year street repair campaign funded by the local option sales tax, or LOST.
Public Works Director Dave Elgin and Public Works Maintenance Manager Craig Hanson will also be available to answer questions.
The conference will be held at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25 at the City of Cedar Rapids City Services Center, located at 500 15th Ave. SW.
