DES MOINES (KWWL) -

Waverly-Shell Rock's quest for a 10st state wrestling title appear in doubt going in to finals Saturday.  The Go-Hawks, sitting third, trail first place Bettendorf by 23.5 points.

The Go-Hawks, however, have a lot of firepower remaining.  After Friday's semifinals, 4 Waverly-Shell Rock athletes punched their tickets in to the state finals.

Bryce Steiert advanced with a  fall over Landon BeLieu of Indianola at 145 pounds.  Corey Abernathy advanced by decision at 170, while 182 pounder Corey Abernathy recorded a technical fall.  Kaleb Staack rounded out the group, pinning Muscatine's Edward Sanders at heavyweight.
