Power outages still impacting thousands in eastern Iowa

Thousands of people in eastern Iowa are still without power following the mixed bag of weather that moved through on Thursday.

As of 5:30 p.m. Friday, more than 2,000 people across Cerro Gordo, Floyd, Franklin, Hancock, Howard, Kossuth, Winnebago, Worth and Wright Counties were still without power.

The outages impact customers of Alliant Energy, Heartland Power Cooperative and Prairie Energy Cooperative.
