DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

Dubuque's Multicultural Family Center is preparing for its fifth annual Taste of the World event, to be held March 22 at the Five Flags Arena.

Taste of the World is a family-friendly event that celebrates Dubuque's diversity and multicultural community through displays, performances and food samples. More than 25 countries will be represented at the event, including India, Belgium, Mexico, Pakistan and Great Britain.

Last year's event drew more than 850 people.

The MFC opened in 2005 and works to empower all families and community members in Dubuque to reach their full potential. It facilitates programming that encourages learning and the celebration of diversity.

All funds from Taste of the World go toward programming at the MFC.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 22, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Five Flags Arena, 405 Main Street in Dubuque. The suggested donation for admission is $5 per person or $15 per family. That includes a beverage, food samples, entertainment and children's activities.
