Oil spill contained after Kalona fire

Posted: Updated:

Crews spent much of Wednesday cleaning up after a fire in Kalona at Schlabach Construction's storage area Tuesday. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources was called in to help because there was a lot of oil spilled during that fire. Luckily, the oil was contained and did not spread to the English River nearby, where it could have endangered plants and animals.
