Hazleton Public Works Director advises residents check water temp

Posted: Updated:
HAZLETON (KWWL) -

People who live in Hazleton are encouraged to leave a low stream of water running to avoid frozen pipes.

Public Works Director Mike Loomis said due to the extreme temperatures and the frost depth, people are encouraged to check the temperature of their water.

If the temperature is 38 degrees or below, Loomis suggests leaving a low stream of water running at all times to prevent service lines from freezing.

Loomis said he's already seen many frozen pipes and hopes to prevent more damage.
