DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

The 2nd annual Community Block Party took place Friday evening in Dubuque. The Community Block Party is hosted by the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque. The block party is a place where people can meet and learn more about non-profit organizations in the Dubuque area.

Nancy Van Milligen is the President and CEO of the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque.

"Dubuque is a very resource rich. We have great organizations that are doing great work. It's so wonderful when we can connect people, both people that need services and donors to the non-profits. The more we know about each other the better we are going to be." Van Milligen said.

Officials with the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque said they expect this years event to draw a couple thousand people to the Roshek building in Dubuque.

"This year we have stretched it to three floors of the Roshek building." Van Milligen said Friday evening.

This year some 68 organizations participated in the event.
