TOWN OF BELOIT, Wis. (KWWL) - A police officer found a newborn alive in a plastic tote swaddled in blankets Friday morning near a West Branch gas station, according to police.
Town of Beloit police told the media Friday morning that 6-day-old Kayden Powell was discovered alive at 10:15 a.m. Friday in a tote, swaddled in blankets, "at a gas station near Interstate 80" in West Branch.
"Despite frigid temperatures, Kayden was found alive, and appears to be doing very well," said Police Chief Steve Kopp during the 11 a.m. news conference in the Town of Beloit. "In the words of EMS officials, he is in excellent health."
