Posted: Updated:
NORTH LIBERTY (KWWL) - A North Liberty woman was injured Wednesday morning after she was hit by another vehicle on Interstate 380.

The Iowa State Patrol says 18-year-old Leah Letenyei was standing behind her car which was parked on the inside shoulder of the interstate at around 8 a.m.

That's when another car, driven by 58-year-old Jacqueline Thompson-Oster, lost control on the icy road while trying to merge into the right lane.

Troopers say Letenyei was hit by Thompson-Oster's vehicle and thrown into the median.

Letenyei was taken to St. Luke's Hospital.
