An Aurora man faces several charges following a marijuana bust in Buchanan County on Tuesday evening.
The Buchanan County Sheriff's Office says deputies executed a search warrant at 1302 Quonset Avenue, south of Aurora, at about 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Deputy Cory Hartman says 26 marijuana plants, along with drug paraphernalia, were seized during the search.
Deputies arrested 29-year-old Justin Lawrence Newman. He is charged with manufacturing a controlled substance with intent to deliver, second offense possession of a controlled substance, failure to affix Iowa drug tax stamp and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Hartman says that after Newman appears before a Buchanan County Magistrate, he will be released to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office on an active arrest warrant for possession of firearms by a felon.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says after a two-week long investigation, they believe Newman had sold three firearms over the last few months.
