Wartburg College tuition on the rise

WAVERLY (KWWL) -

Wartburg students discovered in an email sent out Friday that the price tag on their education was increasing once again.

The price of a student's tuition, including room and board will increase nearly five percent for the 2014-2015 academic year, going from $42,905 to $45,040.

College Officials say tuition is their largest source of revenue, and unfortunately, it's the only way to keep the college running at this capacity.

"We're sensitive to what the impact of a college education is on a family pocketbook and we want to continue to provide an education that's attainable for people but also not compromising the quality of that education," Wartburg College Vice President for Marketing and Communication said.

Wartburg Officials also said that as the prices of other goods increase, such as milk, bread and even health care, the price of tuition must increase as well.

They also said they make it a priority to not ask for anything more than they need in order to provide a quality education to their students.
