Late 3 pushes Drake women past UNI

Posted: Updated:
CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

Carly Grenfel only hit one shot, but it turned out to be a game winner as Drake rallied past the UNI women 66-64.

Grenfel knocked down a 3 with 10 seconds remaining to give the Bulldogs the 2 point advantage.

UNI had appeared to seal the deal when Jen Keitel scored and drew a foul with 44 seconds left.  After missing the ensuing free throw, the Panthers led 64-60.  Drake's Kyndal Clark hit a 3 with 26 seconds remaining, while UNI missed the front end of a 1 and 1 on their next possession which set up Grenfel's game winning shot.

Keitel and Brooke Brown led the Panther scoring effort with 14 points apiece.  Lizzy Wendell had a game high 23 for Drake.
