A Buchanan County man was injured after an accident along Highway 187 Saturday afternoon. Deputies say the man was clearing snow from his driveway when his skid loader was hit by a semi. It happened just before 4 p.m. south of Lamont. Deputies say Loras Manternach was pushing snow from his driveway when he pulled into the path of a semi driven by Michael Olmstead of E. Dubuque, Ill. Deputies say the semi's trailer hit the front end of the skid laoder as it went by, spinning the skid loader around and tipping it on its side. The semi and trailer continued south before stopping with the trailer partially in the ditch. Manternach was taken by air ambulance to a Waterloo hospital with serious injuries. Olmstead was not injured.
