House fire in Waterloo sends one person to the hospital

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The Waterloo Police Department tells us one man went to the hospital after a house fire in Waterloo.

It happened in the 1100 block of Cornwall Avenue.

Waterloo Police Officers we spoke with said the fire started in the basement. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, but garbage is believed to have played a role.

Two dogs survived the fire.
