Driver killed in East Dubuque crash Thursday

EAST DUBUQUE, Ill. (KWWL) - An early-morning crash in East Dubuque, Ill., killed a driver Thursday.

The East Dubuque Police Department says the crash happened shortly before 4:30 a.m. Thursday on Route 20 West at Barge Terminal Road.

Police say a semi collided with a car crossing the east and westbound lanes of Route 20.

The driver of the car was taken to Mercy Hospital, but police aren't releasing that person's name until family members are notified.

The driver of the semi was 58-year-old Rick Meyer from Kieler, Wis.

Authorities are still looking into what happened.
