The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says a leak at a lift station in Coralville caused an unknown amount of wastewater to be released in a residential neighborhood.
The DNR says the leak, which was reported at 9:25 p.m. Tuesday, allowed the wastewater to flow across a driveway on Timber Court in Coralville, along the curb and eventually into a dry gully on the north side of Interstate 80.
The DNR says they found a leak in an air-release pipe at the Brown Deer lift station at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday. It was fixed by 10:15 a.m.
People and pets should avoid the area for 48 hours.
