An Iowa City man is in the Johnson County Jail after being accused of sexually abusing a seven-year-old girl.

According to the criminal complaint, the Iowa City Police Department received a report of a child sexual assault on July 10, 2013.

The complaint alleges that on July 9, 2013 31-year-old Marvin Stanley Ramos was left in a supervisory position with the girl.

According to the complaint, the girl claims that Ramos touched and scratched her "private area" by putting his hand under her shorts. The girl says she told Ramos to stop more than once.

A medical examination at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics showed that the girl did have abrasions on her private area.

Ramos is charged with second degree sexual abuse.
