DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

If anybody knows the value of dressing in layers, it's Prince Martin.

He's worked for six years now as the Liberty Tax Service mascot in Dubuque. Drivers may have spotted him outside, at the intersection of Asbury and JFK roads, dressed as the Statue of Liberty.

From mid-January through mid-April, Martin said, he's outside five days a week, nearly eight hours a day.

He said he's wearing lots of layers in this weather, but this winter is particularly rough.

"The worst part about being out is just the temperature is down more this year," Martin said. "A different ice age!"

He said hot chocolate and hot coffee help him get through days like this.
