CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -
An area group is currently working to furnish apartments for the homeless in eastern Iowa, and you can help.
The group is called Partners United for Supportive Housing-Cedar Rapids (PUSH-CR). It is collecting household items, with the goal to help more than 125 families.
The group plans to enroll approximately 3 families per month through April 2017 to permanently house families who are homeless, near homeless, involved with child welfare, dealing with complex needs or disabilities that may threaten child and family safety and well-being.
You can drop off donations for the project on February 8, March 15 or April 19 from 10am until 2pm at 601 2nd Avenue SE in Cedar Rapids.
