Fire damages Cedar Rapids flood home

Posted: Updated:

A house fire at a flood-damaged home in the New Bohemia neighborhood in Cedar Rapids happened Monday morning.

Firefighters tell KWWL the fire began just after 8:30 a.m. Monday.

Nobody lives at the flood-damaged home and nobody was inside at the time the fire began.

Due to the bitterly cold temperatures, firefighters were taking turns putting out the fire.

A city bus was being used as a warming station and the Salvation Army was also helping crews stay warm.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
