RAGBRAI to stop in Waverly, Independence, Guttenberg in 2014

RAGBRAI XLII will roll through eastern Iowa this summer. Three eastern Iowa communities were named overnight stops for this year. It's the first time since 1999, Waverly will host an overnight stop. From there, cyclists will head to Independence where it will be a Friday night stop. It last hosted RAGBRAI in 2007. Then, riders will compete their journey to the Mississippi River in Guttenberg. It last hosted RAGBRAI in 2005 and is the 5th time that city has been the final destination. The journey will start in Rock Valley for the first time and stop in Okoboji and the Iowa Great Lakes for the first time. Other overnight stops include Emmetsburg, Forest City and Mason City. The complete route will be announced later. RAGBRAI XLII will be held July 20-26.
