UPDATE: Names of Arlington fire victims released

Posted: Updated:
ARLINGTON (KWWL) - Fayette County authorities have released the names of the five people who died in Friday's house fire near Arlington.

Authorities say 27-year-old Amanda Lynn Smith-Miller, 4-year-old Delacisey Seales and 1-year-old Isabella Miller, all of Oelwein; and 30-year-old James Dean McCain and 84-year-old Gil Raymond Stachar, both of Arlington, were all found dead inside the home.

Fire crews were called to a farm house along F Avenue in Arlington at around 3:30 a.m. Friday.

Arlington Fire Chief Paul Seedorff told KWWL they could see flames from almost 2 miles away, and by the time they arrived it was too late for crews to attempt a rescue.

Friends told KWWL they believe the fire started from space heaters.

While authorities would not confirm the cause of the fire, at least two space heaters were pulled from the rubble and set aside near a tree.
