Blizzard conditions affecting eastern Iowa; travel not advised

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Whiteout conditions are making driving dangerous in eastern Iowa Monday morning.

Travel is not advised in all areas along and north of Highway 20 east of Fort Dodge. Some areas are impassable between Waterloo and Dubuque.

DOT plow crews were pulled off area roadways Sunday evening due to the dangerous conditions.

Tow bans are in effect in most areas. Wind gusts as high as 53 mph have been reported.
