Target announces headquarters layoff

Posted: Updated:
Minneapolis-based Target has announced it will cut 475 jobs from its headquarters.

The nation’s second largest retailer says that it would not fill nearly 700 positions around the world.

The layoffs come just one day after the company announced that it was cutting health benefits for part time employees.

A target spokeswoman declined to provide details of the jobs being cut.

The cuts come after the massive holiday security breach.  Hackers were able to steal credit and debit card numbers of more than 100 million target shoppers.
