New coffee sleeves help warn about strokes, heart attacks

Posted: Updated:
CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

Now, when you get your cup of coffee, you can learn about your health.

Coffee shops in Cedar Rapids have teamed up with St. Luke's Hospital to spread awareness of heart attacks and strokes -- two leading causes of death for men and women.

The Blue Strawberry, Brewed Awakenings and Coffeesmiths locations in the city all have new cup sleeves that list the symptoms of those deadly diseases.

The hospital also created special valet hangers that will be placed in all valet-parked cars at the hospital, St. Luke's Medical Office Plaza and PCI Medical Pavilion.

The sleeves and hangers will be used through May.
