An Independence plant will close in March, and dozens will lose their jobs.
Between 25 to 35 L&M Radiator employees will be out of job come this March.
The company is based in Minnesota, but the Independence plant opened in 2005.
The company specifically makes heavy-duty radiators and heat exchangers for off road and stationary equipment.
City officials say the company had seen a decline in the last six months and ultimately the demand was low.
"But when your looking at the demands from the customers from Caterpillar and Komatsu and large equipment from that, that demand has gone down so those companies are sitting on a lot of inventory so that in turn hurts that supply chain as you're going down," said Nate Clayberg, Buchanan County Economic Development Director.
Officials with the company say they plan to keep the lease to the building in Independence and they don't plan to sell their equipment. They hope sales will bounce back up and they can reopen the plant.
