WEST BRANCH (KWWL) -

A West Branch day care worker accused of having more than a thousand child porn images on his computer and cell phone is facing charges.

Brady Verlo, 22, worked at the West Branch Community Day Care Center.

Parents and day care workers refused to talk to us, but a worker at the day care center says she's been advised by police not to talk since it’s an ongoing investigation.

"Evidence that has been collected is being processed by experts within the Iowa City Police Department and this investigation is ongoing,” the West Branch Police said in a statement.

Kevin Hatfield, West Branch Community Schools superintendent, says the day care works closely with the school district.

Verlo confessed to having about 400 videos and photos of child porn on his cell phone and more than 1,000 images on his computer, according to police.

He admits that he’s exchanged the photos and videos with others interested in child porn, according to police.

Verlo is charged with possession of child pornography and is in the Johnson County Jail on a $30,000 bond.

Since the investigation is ongoing, additional charges are likely.
