Black Hawks make a big trade with Fargo

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Despite a winning streak that has reached nine games-- PK O'Handley and the Waterloo Black Hawks show they're not willing to stand pat.

The Black Hawks pulled off a big trade sending talented Swedish goaltender Mathias Israelsson and little used forward Andrew Fernal to Fargo for Vetran Goalie Cameron Johnson.

Last year Johnson was the winning goaltender in Fargo's decisive game five win over Waterloo. In a release--Coach Handley said Johnson will be a perfect compliment to the Black Hawk's outstanding goalie Cal Petersen.

NAT SOT... The NHL Central Scouting Service released its mid-season report earlier this week-- and five Black Hawks are on the radar. Waterloo Defensemen Mark Friedman, Cooper Watson, and Brandon Montour, plus forwards Tyler Sheehy and Lawton Courtnall are among the more than 200 prospects in the United States or Canada. To them it's a great honor.

Wins over Sioux Falls and Des Moines last week pushed the Waterloo winning streak to nine games and earned the Black Hawks' Liam Pecararo the USHL CO-Forward of the Week Award.
