UPDATE: U. of Iowa woman ends Jeopardy! streak with $91K

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

A University of Iowa employee has ended her run on a popular quiz show, going home with more than $90,000.

Sarah McNitt did not win Tuesday, her sixth day on Jeopardy!, but went home with $2,000 anyway.

That brings her six-day total to $91,398.

McNitt works as the study abroad adviser at the University of Iowa. She credits her liberal arts education with her Jeopardy! prowess.

Jeopardy! airs on KWWL weekdays at 4 p.m.

A University of Iowa employee has won a fifth round of a popular quiz show on KWWL Monday, meaning she'll return to the show Tuesday.

Sarah McNitt bested her opponents once again, claiming a Friday total of $2,199.

Her combined winnings for the five days added up to a total of $89,398.

Jeopardy! airs at 4 p.m. weekdays on KWWL.

Sarah McNitt is a study abroad advisor at the University of Iowa, and according to her online blog, she's been working towards the goal of being on Jeopardy! since 1999.

During the taping of the show, she even told host Alex Trebek the goal was mentioned in her college essay.

"When I was filling out one of my college essays, I wrote that I wanted to get a liberal arts education because it would be helpful for my eventual career on Jeopardy!” McNitt said.
