Waverly run-off election Tuesday for at-large council seat

Posted: Updated:
WAVERLY (KWWL) - Voters in Waverly are again headed to the polls Tuesday to decide a special election to fill a vacancy on the city council.

The empty at-large chair on the council is after the death of Gary Boorom, who died in late September.

Among more than three candidates in a special election in December, no one received more than 50 percent of the vote.

A run-off election among the top two will decide who gets the seat.

Former mayor Bob Brunkhorst and John Campbell are on the ballot.

Write-in votes will also be counted, which will include a campaign from Edith Waldstein. Waldstein came in third with write-ins in December's special election.

A simple majority of votes wins the run-off.
