The Fayette County Food Shelf has found a new home following a fire on New Year's Eve.
The food bank will spend the next three months at the Northeast Iowa Professional Building rent-free. The building is located at 201 East Clark Street and the Food Shelf is in Room 109.
The new home for the Food Shelf is only temporary. Officials say they want to be back into the thrift store area of the original building before the free-rent agreement is over.
In the meantime, the food pantry continues to receive donations. They also plan fundraisers once a month for the next few months. The first will be a pancake fundraiser Sunday, January 19 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Arlington. The pancake fundraiser is planned from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
If you can't attend a fundraiser you can also checks. They can be made payable to Fayette County Food Shelf, P.O. Box 711, Fayette, Iowa 52142
