#3 Hawkeye wrestlers roll past #5 Oklahoma State 24-6

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Iowa won 8 of 10 matches, including all of the marquis showdowns, as they rolled past #5 Oklahoma State 24-6 on Friday night.

The first big match came at 133, where 4th ranked Tony Ramos put #1 Jon Morrison on his back midway through the 3rd period to pull out an 8-2 upset victory.  Fifteenth ranked Tony Grothus followed suit with a 5 point move getting a quick reversal and back points against #3 Josh Kindig at 149 to take control en route to a 9-5 decision.  At 157, top ranked Derek Saint John only needed a second period reversal to defeat #2 Alex Dieringer 2-1.

The Hawkeyes 18 point margin of victory was the largest over Oklahoma State since 1995.

On Tuesday, Ejim was named the Big 12's basketball Scholar Athlete of the Year for the 2nd time in his career.This adds to a laundry list of honors this season including All-American nods from 5 different organizations on top of his Big 12 Player of the Year award.Ejim holds a 3.7 GPA.
