DES MOINES (KWWL) -
The Iowa Finance Authority announced on Tuesday the launch of a new website that will allow people to access real-time rental housing information.
Landlords are able to advertise their properties for free with this website, which also allows them to match renters with housing based on their specific needs.
The website already has approximately 20,000 rental units listed representing 250 Iowa landlords.
This website also works as a powerful resource during times of disaster.
"IowaHousingSearch.org sets an excellent example for disaster preparedness with a proactive approach to identifying and listing emergency rental housing," said Pat Hall, Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Recovery Division Administrator said.
"When crisis causes housing loss in Iowa, this resource will be in place and ready to quickly help displaced individuals," Hall added. "IowaHousingSearch.org will give us the tools we need to find available replacement housing throughout the state."
Renters, landlords, housing professionals and service providers can list and search for housing anytime on this website by going to IowaHousingSearch.org.
