Man convicted in shooting and burglary sentenced 35 years in jail

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

One man accused of breaking into an Iowa City home and shooting a man will spend at least ten years in jail. The victim survived the 2012 shooting.

On Monday, Peter Thullen was sentenced to 35 years in prison for the first degree burglary and willful injury charges. His sentence could be reduced to ten years for good behavior.

The man believed to be Thullen’s accomplice, Andrew Meyer, will go to trial in March.
