Waterloo Salvation Army still short $42,000 for kettle campaign

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The bells have stopped ringing this holiday season, but it's not too late to help the Waterloo Salvation Army reach its goal for the 2013 Red Kettle Campaign.

The Waterloo Salvation Army hoped to raise $725,000 this year.

As of Friday morning, 94 percent of that has been collected, leaving $42,258.25 that still needs to be donated.

Sue Hennings at the Waterloo Salvation Army says checks continue to arrive. She says people can still mail a check or deliver a donation to the Salvation Army in person.

People wanting to make a donation need to specify that the contribution is for the Red Kettle Campaign for it to count toward the total.
