BLACK HAWK COUNTY (KWWL) - A Spirit Lake woman only sustained minor injuries after she fell off of a bridge in Black Hawk County following a five vehicle pile up on Highway 20.
Evansdale Police report it happened at 12:31 p.m. on Highway 20 in the eastbound lane between a Cedar River bridge and River Forest Road.
Police say 20-year-old Ellayna Wiedow lost control of the car she was driving and hit the center railing of a bridge. She then proceeded to get out of her car and look at the damage.
Police say that's when another vehicle lost control and struck her vehicle. Wiedow's vehicle pushed her over the bridge causing her to fall 25 feet.
Wiedow only sustained minor injuries.
Police say the other crashes in the area also led to minor injuries.
