WATERLOO (KWWL) -
Officials behind a $27.5 million sports facility in Waterloo say they need more time before they open the doors.
The Cedar Valley SportsPlex, a 140,000 square-foot facility, was scheduled to open this Friday, but the grand opening is now scheduled for Jan. 17.
Organizers said they pushed back the opening to make sure the facility is clean and ready for the public.
"When people get the final product and it as as pristine as what we want it to be, they're going to forget about the fact that they had to wait two more weeks," said President of Waterloo Development Corporation Daniel Watters.
