IOWA CITY (KWWL) - Early Tuesday a cab driver in Iowa City was punched and robbed by two men. Police say it happened just after 2:30 a.m. in the 900 block of Hudson Avenue.

The driver says two black men approached his cab. Both were wearing dark clothing.

The taller man, around six feet tall, also wore a ski mask. The shorter man punched the driver in the face.

Officers set up a perimeter near the scene. A fresh layer of snow led the officers to a garage on the 800 block of Hudson Avenue.

Samuel Lockett III was taken into custody and charged with second-degree robbery.

Iowa City Area Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the second suspect.
