Hawks hit Busch Gardens in break from bowl prep

TAMPA, Fla. (KWWL) -

Make no mistake, the Hawkeyes' Outback Bowl trip is not a vacation.  For the players, it's a business trip, but like most business trips, it does come with some recreation time.

Friday afternoon, the Hawks hit up Busch Gardens, one of Tampa's most popular attractions.  The players hit the rides, fed the animals, and blew off a bit of steam.  After a few days in Florida just preparing for the game, it was just what the doctor ordered.

"We put in 2 hard days when we first got down here, now coach is sort of letting us relax a little bit," said senior linebacker James Morris, "Then it's going to be work the rest of the way out."

Iowa faces LSU in the Outback Bowl at noon on January 1.
