Alliant Energy: Power restored in Marshall and Tama Counties

MARSHALL COUNTY (KWWL) - A spokesman from Alliant Energy said power has been restored for more than 9,000 customers Friday morning.

Justin Foss said a piece of equipment at a substation in Marshalltown failed at about 10:00 p.m. on Thursday.

He said more than 9,000 customers in Marshall County were without power as well as a few hundred customers in Tama County.

According to Foss, crews fixed the piece of equipment in less than two hours and power was restored by midnight.
