One person dead, five injured in Delaware County accident

DELAWARE COUNTY (KWWL) -

One person is dead and five others injured after a single-vehicle accident early Saturday morning. It happened just after 2 a.m. on D22, two miles east of Earlville in Delaware County.

The Iowa State Patrol reports a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Dean Dempster III of Delhi lost control and crossed the center line. The vehicle went in the ditch and rolled.

Dempster and four other people were injured in the accident and taken to the hospital. They areThey are 22-year-old Ryan Fischer of Manchester, 23-year-old Holly Hoeger of Earlville, 24-year-old Amber Fischer of Manchester, and 22-year-old Dylan Slattery of Manchester.

The Iowa State Patrol reports 23-year-old Brittany Honkomp of Dyersville died in the accident.
