Cedar Rapids' Horizons needs help reaching fundraising goal

Posted: Updated:
CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - Horizons, A Family Service Alliance is close to meeting its fundraising goal for the year.

The Cedar Rapids not-for-profit has raised nearly all of its $30,000 goal and is looking for final donations to meet that goal.

Horizons provides several services throughout eastern Iowa, including Meals on Wheels, mental health counseling and credit counseling.

According to the organization:
  • $40 can provide a homebound senior enrolled in the Meals On Wheels program with fresh, healthy lunches for an entire week
  • $100 covers an emotional support session with Horizons Mental Health Counseling for a child of recently-divorced parents
  • $150 can furnish a toddler bed and mattress for a young child so they no longer have to sleep on the floor
  • $500 supports five financial literacy neighborhood outreach programs through Consumer Credit Counseling Services
