Waterloo mother arrested after bus confrontation

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

A Waterloo woman faces charges after a confrontation with her child's bus driver in which she said the driver told her he would "Donkey Kong" her.

Waterloo police say Victoria Gerold was arrested on Monday for the confrontation on Dec. 11.

Bus driver Brian Freeland filed the complaint, claiming that Gerold walked onto the bus and spit on his face.

He told police that he told Gerold to get off his bus multiple times.

Gerold described the incident to KWWL last week, saying, "We were yelling. He had nudged me and stuff, was trying to get me off his bus, talking about, 'You come back on my bus, I'm gonna Donkey Kong you.'"

Durham School Services investigated the incident but decided to keep Freeland on the same bus route.

Carina Noble says their investigation determined that Freeland did everything he could in the situation.

Gerold faces charges for criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.
