Wisconsin man arrested for Dubuque armed robbery

DUBUQUE (KWWL) - A Wisconsin man has been arrested after being accused of a convenience store robbery in Dubuque.

Officers were called to the Amoco/BP convenience store at 1215 East 16th Street at around 7:44 a.m. Sunday for a report of an armed robbery, according to Lt. Scott Baxter.

Employees told officers that the suspect had run toward the Wendy's restaurant next door.

Baxter says officers were able to identify Chad K. Reuter, 35, of Bloomington, Wis., as a suspect after getting witness accounts and footage from surveillance and traffic cameras.

That information helped officers develop a suspect vehicle and license plate.

According to Baxter, Grant County (Wis.) deputies located Reuter in front of his home on Monday. He agreed to be interviewed by Dubuque investigators.

The investigators also were granted a search warrant for Reuter's home and car.

After interviewing Reuter and searching his home and car, investigators arrested Reuter and he was charged with first-degree robbery.

Reuter is in the Grant County Jail awaiting extradition to Iowa.
