GRUNDY COUNTY (KWWL) - Two people were hurt after an accident on Highway 20 in Grundy County on Monday.

An Iowa DOT snowplow driven by 36-year-old Doug Egesdal was headed west on Hwy. 20 at around 7:15 a.m. Monday when a pickup driven by 22-year-old William Borota, Jr., of Maquoketa tried to pass him, according to Grundy County Sheriff Rick Penning.

Penning says the pickup, which was pulling a flatbed trailer, hit the back of the snowplow while trying to pass it.

Egesdal was taken to Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. Borota was taken to Grundy County Memorial Hospital.

Their conditions have not been released.

The accident remains under investigation.
