Woodward Mississippi River Center in Dubuque closed after fire

The Woodward Mississippi River Center in Dubuque is closed until further notice. That's after an early morning fire caused minor damage to the tortoise enclosure on the second floor of the Woodward Mississippi River Center at the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium.

No persons or animals were harmed and there were no visitors in the building at the time of the incident.

The buildings alarm system notified the Dubuque Fire Department and Museum & Aquarium staff at approximately 2:23 a.m. Saturday.
