"All Africa" aims to bring Dubuque community together

A new initiative by the Dubuque Multicultural Family center kicked off Thursday evening in Dubuque.

It's called "All Africa" and it aims to bring the community of Dubuque together to celebrate the rich history and culture of Africa.

Honorable Nigerian Ambassador Geoffrey Teneilabe was the honorary speaker for Thursday's event. Abeni El-Amin is the executive director of the Multicultural Family Center in Dubuque, she says the Honorable Nigerian Ambassador Teneilabe is very supportive of the initiative.

"When I called him and told him about the All Africa initiative he was more than willing to come and be a part of it." El-Amin said.

In conjunction with "All Africa", the Multicultural Family Center also hosted a family program called the Paperback Pioneers. During the event, the pioneers acted out the book "Yellow Tiger and the Violin Travel to Africa" to the audience.
